8455线路检测中心创建于1949年12月12日,是青藏高原第一所现代意义上的高等学府。学校于1979年招收藏语言文学、民族史专业研究生,1981年获得国务院学位委员会第一批硕士学位授权,成为青海省最早开展学位与研究生教育的单位。2011年,青海省人民政府与国家民委签订协议共建8455线路检测中心。2018年获得国务院学位委员会博士学位单位和民族学一级学科博士学位授权。建校以来,学校始终坚持社会主义办学方向,肩负党的教育工作和民族工作的双重使命,落实立德树人根本任务,自觉服务于民族地区发展和国家战略需要,与祖国共奋进、与时代共发展、与青海共命运,谱写了青海高等教育气壮山河的精彩华章。

学校始终坚守青藏高原,面向民族地区,牢记为少数民族和民族地区办学的宗旨,坚守民族院校的办学定位,培养了近10万名来自于民族地区、服务于民族地区的各民族人才,其中有5万余名毕业生在青海地区工作,8千余名在西藏、新疆工作,涌现出以改革先锋杰桑·索南达杰为代表的一批优秀学生和45名省部级领导干部、1300多名厅局级领导和120名享受国务院特殊津贴专家、600余名正高级专业技术人才,为建立和巩固新生的人民政权,为青海的民主改革、民族团结、社会稳定、经济发展、生态保护和各项事业作出了不可磨灭的重大贡献。目前,共有来自全国29个省、市、自治区的汉、藏、回、土、撒拉、蒙古等民族的14953名学生在校学习,其中少数民族学生8334名,占在校学生的55.73%。

学校坚持人才强校战略,有效汇聚了李文实、夏日东、芈一之、胡安良、祁顺来、毛继祖、贾晞儒、吴启勋等一批知名学者和青年才俊,极大地提升了人才培养水平,提高了学校在国内外的学术影响力。学校现有1144名教职工,专任教师745名,其中正高级职称人员159名、副高级职称人员240名;专任教师中,具有博士、硕士学位的教师585名。拥有国家万人计划领军人才1名、中宣部“文化名家暨四个一批”领军人才1名、享受国务院特殊津贴专家15名、国家级教学名师1名、全国高校优秀青年教师奖获得者2名、全国优秀教师5名、全国模范教师1名、新万人才程国家级人选2名、教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划5名。

学校高度重视一流学科、一流专业建设,人文社会学科始终在青藏高原地区具有优势地位,与青海特色优势产业和支柱产业相衔接的新能源、新材料、盐湖化工、藏医药等理工类学科建设形成规模、富有特色。学校现有24个学院(含青海干部网络学院),有1个博士学位授权一级学科、12个硕士学位授权一级学科、98个二级硕士学位授权点、6个专业硕士学位点、57个本科专业,形成了较为完备的本科、硕士、博士教育人才培养体系。学科涵盖文学、理学、法学、经济学、管理学、教育学、历史学、医学、工学九大门类,其中人文社会学科类本科专业33个,占比为57.89%,理工医类本科专业24个,占比为42.11%,形成了较为综合的文、理、工学科结构布局。

学校始终扎根青海大地,立足时代前沿,服务国家战略,开展科学研究,取得了一系列有重要理论和现实价值的标志性成果。近5年来,学校共承担各级各类科研项目787项,其中国家社科基金重大招标项目3项、重点项目6项、冷门“绝学”项目3项,教育部哲学社会科学研究重大委托项目1项,教育部重大攻关项目1项,国家级、省部级项目342项;获省部级以上科研成果奖64项,出版专著教材339部,发表论文1821篇,为各级政府提供智库报告70余项。现有青藏高原民族研究基地等6个国家级科研机构,民族研究所等8个省级研究机构和20个校级研究机构;有1个国家级重点实验室、1个国家级实验教学示范中心、8个省级重点实验室、5个省级实验教学示范中心;有13个省部级重点学科、4个国家级特色专业、2个国家级一流本科专业建设点、1个国家级教学团队、3门国家级精品课程、2门国家级精品资源共享课、1门国家级视频公开课、24门省级精品课程和19门省级重点课程;有1个院士工作站、1个国家级卓越法律人才教育培养基地、1个地方高校第一批本科专业综合改革试点专业。编辑出版《青海民族研究》《8455线路检测中心学报》(哲学社会科学版、藏文版)和《青藏高原论坛》等4种在国内外公开发行的学术性期刊,《青海民族研究》跻身北京大学、南京大学和中国社会科学院认定的核心期刊行列,《8455线路检测中心学报》(哲学社会科学版)版跻身南京大学中文社科引文索引(CSSCI)扩展。

学校分东序、西昆、文实、博雅、凤凰山五个校区,占地面积1500余亩,建筑面积49.5万平方米;固定资产账面总值约6.34亿元,其中,教学仪器设备总值1.69亿元;馆藏纸质图书157.05万册、电子图书93.67万种、其中民族文字图书12万册、藏文大藏经1667函,汉文古籍3166部78750册(其中善本 380 部),23部古籍入选《国家珍贵古籍名录》,生均图书106册,是青藏高原汉文古籍和藏文古籍馆藏图书最多特别是珍贵古籍馆藏量最多的的高校。建有容纳3000多人的多功能体育馆和充足的运动场地,正在建设1.6万平方米的大学生活动中心。

学校高度重视与国内外高校与科研机构之间的交流,现与德国德累斯顿工业大学、日本南山大学、马来西亚马来亚大学、埃及开罗大学、泰国清莱皇家大学等15个国家和地区的51所院校建立了合作交流关系。响应“一带一路倡议”,建有中亚学院和三个国别与区域研究基地,其中“中亚-土库曼斯坦研究基地”、“喜马拉雅山地国家研究基地”获批为国家民委重点研究基地。现有外国留学生154名,是青海省培养留学生最多的高校。在国内,教育部先后安排天津大学、厦门大学、中国人8455线路检测中心学对口支援8455线路检测中心,中央民族大学、北京工业大学也与我校建立了校际对口支援关系。

立足深厚的办学底蕴和良好的发展势头,学校经过科学论证,拟到2025年,将学校建成办学特色鲜明、培养体系完备、学科专业结构合理、学科特色优势明显、教学质量较高、育人能力较强、校园环境优美、文化氛围浓郁,在国内外有一定影响力和知名度的综合性大学。到2035年,建成整体水平达到青藏高原区域一流,具有一定影响力的高水平大学。到2049年建校100周年时,建成国内外有重要影响力和知名度的西部地区一流大学。






Introduction on Qinghai Minzu University


Qinghai Minzu University was founded on December 12, 1949. It is one of the earliest universities in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and also one of the earliest ethnic-minority colleges in the New China. It was initially established as the Qinghai Youth Cadre Training Course, then the Qinghai Provincial People's College, the Qinghai Provincial Nationalities Public School and so on. In 1956, the State Council approved both the change of its name to the Qinghai Nationalities Academy and its mission to serve as an institution of undergraduate studies. In 1979, the school recruited postgraduate students majoring in Tibetan literature and the history of ethnic minorities. The first master’s degrees were awarded by the Academic Committee of the State Council in 1981. It was the first university in Qinghai province to award degrees in postgraduate education.

In April 2009, the school was renamed Qinghai Minzu University. In 2011, the Qinghai Provincial People's Government and the State Civil Affairs Commission signed an agreement to jointly build Qinghai Minzu University. In 2013, the school was selected as the national "Central and Western University Basic Capacity Construction Project" university. In 2014, the State Council's degree office approved the joint training of doctoral students between our university and Tianjin University, as well as listed a separate doctoral enrollment plan for our school. At present, five cohorts have been recruited and two PhDs have successfully completed their studies and graduated in 2018. In 2017, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council approved the school as a doctorate-authorized institution and ethnology has been authorized as a first-tier PhD discipline. In 2018, the Qinghai Province Ministry of Education and Finance established ethnology as a first-class educational discipline on the national level, and Chinese literature as a first-class discipline within the province.

In the past 69 years, Qinghai Minzu University has always adhered to the direction of a socialist education, promoted the virtues of a moral education, and played an active role in the dual functions of developing education and the ethnic minorities, adhered to the national strategy in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region and regional economic and social development needs. It has continued to adhere to the school motto of “Relentlessly pursuing virtue, achievement, and self-improvement” and displayed the school spirit of “Unity, Diligence, Realism and Innovation” in order to carry out the work of personnel training, scientific research, social service and the preservation of cultural heritage. In this way, this institution has made a unique contribution to the political and economic development, democratic reform, social stability and the cause of national unity in the Qinghai and Tibetan areas. And with the distinctive characteristics of an academic institution, it has become an important pillar of support for the emergence of a new era in Qinghai.

Since the establishment of the school, it has always stayed true to the purpose of serving as an institution of higher learning for ethnic-minority areas. More than 89,000 graduates from ethnic areas have been cultivated to serve in ethnic, especially Tibetan, areas. It has made special contributions to consolidating the new people's power and promoting democratic reform in Tibetan areas. It has promoted economic and social development in ethnic minority areas, and helped to maintain national unity and social stability. At present, a total of 13,918 students from 31 ethnic groups, such as Han, Tibetan, Hui, Tu, Salar and Inner Mongolian, from 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, are studying in the university, including 9,400 undergraduate and 1,609 graduate students, of which 7,769 are ethnic-minority students, accounting for 52.82% of the student body; Tibetan students alone number 4,884, accounting for 35.09% of the student body.

The university has 24 colleges, one doctorate-authorized first-tier discipline, 12 first-tier master's degree disciplines, 94 second-tier master's degree disciplines, 6 professional master's degree programs, 58 undergraduate majors, and 37 specialties. The majors cover nine categories, which are literature, science, law, economics, management, education, history, medicine, and engineering. Among them, there are 33 humanities and liberal arts subjects, accounting for 56.9% of the majors, while there are 25 majors in the fields of medicine, science, and technology, accounting for 43.1% of the majors. The university boasts a comprehensive literary, scientific, and engineering foundational structure and a complete undergraduate, master, and doctoral education system.

The school currently has 3 national scientific research institutions and 26 provincial and school-level research institutions. There is 1 academician workstation, 4 national characteristic specialties, 1 national-level teaching team, 1 national-level experimental teaching demonstration center, 3 national-level excellence courses, 2 national-level high-quality resource sharing courses, 1 national-level video open course, 1 national-level excellence legal talent education and training base, and 1 local university with the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot major. There are 13 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, 8 provincial key laboratories, 5 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 43 provincial excellence and key courses, and 71 smart classrooms. The university edits and publishes four journals, including the Qinghai Ethnic Studies, the Journal of Qinghai Minzu University (philosophy and social sciences edition, Tibetan Edition) and the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau Forum at home and abroad, focusing on ethnology and cult urology. Among them, Qinghai Ethnic Studies ranks among the three core journals of Peking University, Nanjing University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The university has 1,139 faculty members, including 720 full-time teachers, 155 professors, 237 associate professors and associate researchers. Among the faculty members, there are 572 teachers with either a doctorate or a master’s degree. One is a member of the National Ten Thousand Talents Society, one is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s “Four Member Cultural Masters” group, and 15 experts receive special subsidies from the State Council. In addition, there is 1 national-level teaching instructor, 2 winners of the National Young Teachers Award for Colleges and Universities, 4 national outstanding teachers, 1 national model teacher, 1 candidate for the national “Ten Million Talents Project in the New Century”, and 5 members of the New Century Excellence Support Program of the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, there is one Qinghai scholar, 10 outstanding experts in Qinghai Province, 9 outstanding professional and technical talents in Qinghai Province, 3 famous teaching instructors in Qinghai Province, 11 excellent teachers and 11 outstanding educators in Qinghai Province, 3 outstanding talents of the “Thousand Talents Plan for High-End Innovation”, 18 leading talents, 29 top-out talents, 1 innovative team of high-end innovative talents in Qinghai Province, 33 special-employment and lecture professors of the Kunlun scholar in Qinghai, and 41 candidates for the higher-level talents training project of higher education institutions in Qinghai.

Over the past five years, 853 scientific research projects at various levels have been undertaken, including 3 major projects of the National Social Science Fund, 6 key projects and 2 unique projects, 1 major commissioned project for the study of the Philosophy Society of the Ministry of Education, 340 national, provincial and ministerial projects, and 2 new engineering projects approved by the Ministry of Education. The school won 64 awards for scientific research achievements at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 1 first prize for teaching achievement at the provincial level and 2 awards for third prize. It has published 308 monographs, 1,863 papers, and more than 70 think tank reports have been provided for all levels of government.

The university is divided into three campuses: Dongxu, Xikun and Nanshan, covering an area of more than 1 million square meters and a construction area of 504,300 square meters. The total listed value of fixed assets is about 617 million yuan. Among them, the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 154 million yuan. It has a collection of 1.5278 million printed books and 936,700 e-books, including 120,000 books in ethnic scripts, 1,667 Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, 3,166 ancient books in Chinese (including 380 reliable texts). Twenty-three ancient books were also selected in the National list of Precious Ancient Books. The collections as whole, including Chinese-language books and ethnic minority books, ranked first among all Qinghai colleges and universities. The campus network infrastructure has a cumulative bandwidth of 10,000 Mbps. The upload bandwidth is 1300 Mbps, and access point’s number 12,000, which covers the unified authentication of both wired and wireless networks. A multipurpose gymnasium with a seating capacity of more than 3,000 and ample sports venues have been built. A 16,000 square meter university student activity center is also currently under construction.

The university has successfully established cooperative agreements and ongoing exchange programs with 38 universities from 11 countries in Asia, North America, and Europe, such as the University of Virginia in the U.S, Industrial University of Dresden in Germany, the University of Nanshan in Japan, the University of Malaya in Malaysia, the University of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, South Korea University in South Korea, and China Culture University in Taiwan. The Ministry of Education has arranged for Tianjin University, Xiamen University and Renmin University of China to support Qinghai Minzu University. In addition, Central Nationalities University and the Beijing University of Technology have also established inter-school support relations with our university.

By 2025, the school will have established a comprehensive university with distinctive characteristics, a complete educational training system with high quality teaching, a systematized structure for specialized disciplines, a moral education system, a beautiful campus environment with a rich cultural atmosphere, and with influence and a good reputation both at home and abroad. By 2035, our university will be an influential first-class educational institution in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. By 2050, which is the 100th anniversary of Qinghai Minzu University, the school will be known as a first-class university in China’s western region, enjoying great influence and popularity both at home and abroad.
